5 Heavenly Morning Breakfasts Under 400 Calories

Are you an all day breakfast menu person??  How do you feel about Ihop–oops I mean Ihob–changing their name?  I love Sonic for their all day breakfast menu.  Many times during my teaching career, I crave Sonic breakfast food.  Here are my last 5 healthy morning breakfasts.  Because they are all under 400 calories, they are also great options for weight watching champions.

Estimated calories: 285 calories

Make a gluten free waffle from gluten free waffle mix. Sprinkle a little cinnamon and sugar on top. Top with blueberries and maple syrup.  I slice thin slices of lemon, soak them in sugar, and eat them with the waffle. Cook bacon.

Estimated calories: 270 calories

Use one pan for all of your breakfast!  Cook your bacon first. Leave the bacon drippings in the pan and cook the corn tortilla on both sides until crisp. The bacon adds amazing flavor!  Remove the tortilla and cook 2 eggs in remaining drippings.  Sprinkle a little Montreal steak seasoning, salt, and pepper on your eggs.  Enjoy all of the delicious flavors!

Estimated calories: 380 calories

Cut 2 tortillas in half.  Make 2 scrambled eggs.  Cook bacon or sausage on the stove.  Leave the drippings in the pan.   Stack the bacon, eggs, and cheese on one half of a tortilla, put the other half on top, like a sandwich.  Cook this quesadilla in the bacon drippings until the tortillas are crispy.  You will have to hold the top while you flip them. Top with picante sauce.

Add a few drops of vanilla to give your cereal an amazing flavor boost.  These healthy “fruit loops” not only taste amazing but are certified gluten free, nut free, wheat free, dairy free, egg free, soy free, and sesame free.  I add a slice of mango and some handfuls of extra fruit.

Estimated calories: 300 calories

Make your own rice crispy peanut butter breakfast bar.  Mix 2 cups rice puffs, 2 Tbsp peanut butter, a handful of peanuts, and drizzle in a little honey.  Stir it together, pour on plastic wrap, and use plastic wrap to mold the bar.  Put in freezer to set.  When you are ready to eat, take it out and eat. You can add fruit or a few fruit loops if you want.

I hope this helps with planning some filling and delicious breakfasts!!  A great breakfast can usually help start off a great day, right?
